Tips & Tricks
It's easier to avoid a chargeback, then deal it later.
Chargebacks are painful as a small business. The nonrefundable $15 processing fee
ProPay (and every other merchant account provider for that matter) charges can eat up your
profit margin on that sale. So, it's better to simply take a few precautions to avoid the
chargeback in the first place.
Tips for all orders:
- Collect the email address on all orders, as PocketPay.ME will email your customer a receipt
- Setup a custom field to collect their phone #, PocketPay.ME can track that
Try these tips for extra large orders:
- Get a signature for sales that are above average for your business.
- Offer free delivery. Why? You can verify their address, fraudsters will likely decline the offer, and getting a tracking number really helps out in a chargeback dispute.
Watch out for these warning signs:
- Customer makes a large purchase, and returns to make another large purchase.
- Customer doesn't ask questions or seem to care about the color, size, price, etc. when making a purchase
In case of a chargeback...
Call the customer immediately.
The single best thing you can do is have your
customer call their bank/credit card company and tell them it was a mistake
Fax/email the receipt copy found in your PocketPay.ME Sales Reports to ProPay.
